We were somewhere around the Grove, on the edge of the food desert, when the dough began to take hold... I remember saying something like “I feel a bit lightheaded; maybe we should eat...” And suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the sky was full of what looked like huge slices of pizza all swooping and screeching and diving around us. And a voice was screaming “Holy Jesus! What’s this dough made of?”
Then it was quiet again.
The dough was fermented sourdough, and the flour came directly from Italy. So did the tomatoes. At Pie Guy Pizza, you might ask: “What the hell are you yelling about?” But the answer to that is simple. We serve late-night slices or whole pies. You’ll find 28 beer taps always flowing alongside a massive selection of canned beer. Wine coming soon. No point in mentioning those flying slices of pizza. You’ll see them soon enough.
